Flexible Multi-Link Robotic Systems

Researching Robotics for Real-World Challenges.

One of the PI’s research focuses is flexible and underwater robotics, particularly the modelling, dynamics, and control of multi-link robots with long, lightweight links. The research examines how flexibility affects vibration, deformation, and overall robotic motion, using single-, two-, and three-link systems as representative configurations. It also involves the development and experimental testing of control methods to reduce vibration and improve motion accuracy.

Another important direction is image-based object detection and path planning for robotic operation in both open-air and underwater environments. The overall goal is to develop practical and intelligent robotic systems for autonomous navigation and precision applications in aerospace, defence, and industry.
